Trulicity® (dulaglutide): Needle Information

The dulaglutide pen comes with a permanently attached needle. The needle is not removable.

What are the specifications of the needle on a dulaglutide pen?

The dulaglutide prefilled pen is manufactured with a 29 G (0.33 mm) x ½’’ (12.7 mm) needle. All dulaglutide prefilled pens have the same needle size.1

The needle is permanently attached to the pen and cannot be taken off.

  • Therefore, it is not possible to attach spare needles or safety needles.1

The injection depth of the needle is approximately 5 mm.1

The needle is lubricated.1

How can the user avoid damaging the needle?

Make sure the pen is locked.

Pull off the grey base cap.

Do not put the base cap back on – this could damage the needle.

  • Discard the base-cap.

Do not touch the needle.2
