Is dose conversion needed when transitioning to the Humalog® (insulin lispro) 200 units/mL KwikPen® from the Humalog® (insulin lispro) 100 units/mL?
When transitioning from Humalog 100 units/ml to Humalog 200 units/ml, no dose conversion is needed.
Dose Conversion
Do NOT perform dose conversion when using the Humalog (insulin lispro) 200 units/mL KwikPen (pen).1
The dose window shows the number of insulin units to be delivered and NO conversion is needed.1
Therefore, a patient receiving 20 units of Humalog 100 units/mL and transitioning to the Humalog 200 units/mL Pen should dial the Pen to 20 units to administer the same 20-unit dose of insulin lispro.2
