How to store Taltz® (ixekizumab)

Store ixekizumab in a refrigerator (2 ºC to 8 ºC) within the original box to protect it from light. Do not freeze. Ixekizumab may be stored unrefrigerated for up to 5 days by patients only at a temperature below 30 ºC.


Patients only allowable room temperature storage 

If needed, patients/caregivers may store ixekizumab at room temperature up to 30°C for up to 5-days (120 hours) in the original carton to protect from light.1 

The allowable room temperature storage time may be one single 5-day exposure or can be broken up into multiple exposures. There is no limit to the number of room temperature exposures as long as the total time does not exceed 5 days (120 hours) for each individual device.2

Accidental storage outside of refrigeration

If ixekizumab was accidentally exposed to temperatures outside the recommended range of temperature, the user or health care provider should return it to recommended conditions and contact us for an assessment to determine if the product is still acceptable to use.

We will ask you to provide the following information:

  • the maximum and/or minimum temperature conditions
  • the total time of exposure outside the approved temperature range.2

Do not expose ixekizumab to freezing temperatures

Do not use frozen ixekizumab.1

Freezing temperatures can affect the medicine. It can also damage the device so that it will not work correctly.2

Do not shake Ixekizumab

Do not vigorously shake ixekizumab as this can damage the medicine inside the device.2

Shelf life

Ixekizumab has a shelf life of 2 years.1

Ixekizumab expires on the last day of the month reflected in the expiration date month and year format printed on the label and packaging.2

Do not use the medicine if it has expired.2
