Forsteo® (teriparatide): Recommended storage
Forsteo should be stored in a refrigerator (2°C to 8°C) at all times. If the pen has been left out of the refrigerator, place it back in the refrigerator and contact us.

What are the correct storage conditions for teriparatide?
Store in a refrigerator (2°C – 8°C) at all times. The pen should be returned to the refrigerator immediately after use.1
Do not freeze the pen. Avoid placing the pens close to the ice compartment of the refrigerator to prevent freezing.2
Do not store the pen with the needle attached.1
What should be done if teriparatide is frozen?
If the medicine has been frozen, throw the device away and use a new pen.3
What should be done if teriparatide is not stored as recommended?
If Forsteo was accidentally exposed to temperatures outside recommended range of temperature, please
- return the pen to the recommended temperature conditions and
- contact us for an assessment to determine if the product is still acceptable to use.
You will be asked to provide the maximum and/or minimum temperature conditions and the total time of exposure outside the approved temperature range.
