Cymbalta® (duloxetine): Opening or Splitting a Capsule
Opening or splitting the Cymbalta capsule is not recommended. As per the package leaflet, patients should swallow the capsule whole with a drink of water.

Duloxetine should be swallowed whole. Capsules should not be chewed or crushed. Capsules should not be opened nor its contents sprinkled on food or mixed with liquids. All of these might affect the enteric coating.1
